FIELD: shipbuilding; designing high-speed vessels with air cavity in bottom and improved hydrodynamic and sea-going properties.
SUBSTANCE: proposed vessel has hull, deadrise fore extremity and side gliding skegs. Located between skegs is bottom recess for forming the air cavity which is bounded by bottom at the top; it terminates at level of aft transom. Side skegs are widening from midship section both sternward in way of transom and towards fore bottom recess for cavity. Lines of flow separation edges of side skegs in fore portion of cavity have C-shaped curvature. Point of intersection of flow separation edges is located in center part of hull closer to stern from midship section plane where breadth of bottom over bilge is more than or is equal to width of bottom in midship section plane.
EFFECT: enhanced stability characteristics of vessel at gliding and in swell.
