FIELD: glass industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass compositions, in particular, to compositions of boron-free alkali-free glass. Glass for manufacturing continuous glass fiber comprises the following components: SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO, TiO2, R2O (wherein R2O means alkaline metal oxides Na2O, K2)) and ZrO2 taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: SiO2, 58.0-60.0; Al2O3, 12.0-14.0; CaO, 20.0-22.0; MgO, 3.0-5.0; TiO2, 0.01-1.9; ZrO2, 0.01-2.0; R2O, up to 1.0. Proposed glass shows a vitrification point 740-770°C, a shift deformation point 830-860°C, and chemical stability - the 1-st hydrolytic class. Softening point of glass corresponding to viscosity value lg 7.6 is in the range 910-920°C. Invention provides the development of chemically and thermally stable, continuous glass fiber that can be used in reinforcement of glass-plastic articles, making roving and fabrics for different designation, among them, insulating as reinforcing materials for glass-plastic materials used in acid, neutral and alkaline media.
