SUBSTANCE: composition for producing high-strength glass fibres produced by direct melting includes the following components, wt %: SiO2 64-75; Al2O3 16-26; MgO 8-11; Li2O+Na2O 0.25-3; CaO no more than 2. The glass has a liquidus point lower than 2650°F and strength of 688-737 kpsi.

EFFECT: low temperature of producing glass fibre.
