FIELD: process for granulating of various materials, such as sludge and dust-like materials.

SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing material to be granulated and containing one or more solid substances capable of being hydrated or hydraulically hardened with water to provide for exothermal reacting of said solid materials with water, with solid substances serving as binders in mixture; leaving solid substances for complete or partial hydration or hardening, said mixture containing completely hydrated or hardened materials being converted into granulated material; moistening and wetting solid substances or solid substance and, when desired, dust-like material to be granulated with water until contacting with material to be granulated, which is in mixing reservoir, and mixing with material to be granulated. Water is fed into solid substances or solid substance in amounts providing during subsequent mixing and/or granulating process establishment of temperature ensuring or causing further drying of unreacted water. Apparatus for granulating of materials is also described.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in mixing of solid substances, provision for processing of sludge and dust-like materials in any quantitative ratios into granulated material of uniform high quality.
