FIELD: refrigeration equipment.
SUBSTANCE: gas cooling method comprises steps of cyclically exciting compression wave in tubular chamber filled with remaining gas due to introducing to chamber (at side of its "cold zone") high-pressure gas doze; interrupting supply of high-pressure gas after termination of compression of gas in said chamber; discharging heated remaining gas out of chamber at side of "hot zone" of chamber; insulating chamber at side of its "hot zone" and providing adiabatic expansion of gas remained in chamber for further ejection of doze of cooled gas from chamber to line of low pressure due to connecting chamber at side of its "hot zone" with receiver. Receiver is cyclically filled with gas until pressure exceeding by 1.5 - 2 times pressure of remaining gas in chamber whose volume is selected according to relation Vc = (0.5 - 1.0)Vr, where Vr -volume of receiver.
EFFECT: lowered energy consumption due to ejection of heated remaining gas to environment.
