FIELD: separation of solid materials.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises mixing coal with water to produce water-coal suspension, separating the coal-containing component of the coal raw material and ash in the water-coal suspension, and extracting the coal-containing component. The coal-containing component and ash are separated in the water-coal suspension by blowing the water vapor in it. The device comprises working chamber provided with inlet and outlet, means for supplying water and coal to the working space of the chamber mounted at its inlet, means for separating ash and water mounted at its outlet, and steam generator connected with the working chamber so that the steam from the steam generator enters its space through the nozzle mounted in it.
EFFECT: simplified method and device, reduced cost, and enhanced efficiency.
