FIELD: road building equipment, particularly to compact materials.
SUBSTANCE: drum has shell formed of resilient material and provided with frame installed inside it and at lest two cylindrical-conical rollers mounted on the frame. Conical roller part apex faces central roller part. The rollers are arranged on frame mounted inside the shell at opposite ends thereof so that rollers may be brought into contact with shell surface by cylindrical part and by conical part extending beyond shell end. Cone angle is 120-160°, diameter of conical roller part at base thereof may be calculated from dk=(0.2 ... 0.4)·D-400, where dk>190 mm, here D is shell diameter, D>2400...3000 mm, or from dk=D-(D-dc-2s)·cosα. Here D is diameter of outer shell, dc is diameter of cylindrical roller part, s is shell wall thickness and α is angle between vertical line and line connecting centers of shell and roller. If side forces F appear during roller rotation and rollers are displaced relative the shell conical roller parts touch shell ends, which prevents axial displacement of the shell and does not limit radial deformation or transversal displacement thereof.
EFFECT: simplified structure due to reduced number of rollers of fixing means, which fixes shell in axial direction.
