METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMBINING AND FINISHING DIFFERENT PAPER WEBS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for handling thin or filamentary material, particularly for registering, tensioning, smoothing or guiding webs.

SUBSTANCE: device carries out combining at least two webs 1, 2, 3, 4, which are substantially different in quality and finishing steps to be performed under longitudinal register control. The device has at least two individual web processing paths 13A, 13B, 13C, combining unit 21 and common processing path 22 with longitudinal register control, as well as longitudinal register control means 14. Longitudinal register control means 14 comprises one longitudinal register sensor per one web. Each web comprises marks spaced apart equal distances one from another. Longitudinal register sensors 14 record marks and transmit signals to control block, which sets possible deviations and manages longitudinal register control means to compensate longitudinal register deviation. Device also has tensioning means for each separate paper web. Tensioning means comprises at least two tension adjusting units 19 A-D, 20 A-D to regulate moving paper web tension. Device comprises at least three setting units arranged on one paper web adapted to set individual web tension on at least two path sections defined by the setting devices. Above path sections preferably mate individual and common processing paths.

EFFECT: possibility to regulate paper web tension in accordance with paper quality and processing operation demands and, as a result, provision of independent paper web processing, increased accuracy of paper web superposition and reduced spoilage.
