FIELD: mining art, applicable for mining of hard rocks in restricted condition, when it is necessary to exclude scattering of the lasted rock mass.
SUBSTANCE: the method consists in drilling of blast holes and their loading. After that a shelter in the form of a mat composed of interconnected tires is placed on the bench surface and fastened by cables or thin chains by anchors installed in hot deep holes. The mat is placed so that part of the mat measuring 1-2 tires would remain on the bottom of the bench. The blast network is mounted over the shelter, and the shelter bench is blasted. After the blast the shelter may be removed with the aid of a bulldozer by the cables or chains removed from the anchors.
EFFECT: enhanced safety of blasting due to prevention of scattering of pieces of the rock under the slope of the benches.
