FIELD: pulse engineering; laser initiation pulse shapers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed laser pumping device has power supply, flash lamp and flash transformer, chokes, thyristors, resistor, and capacitors. Third thyristor, second choke, fourth capacitor, and first capacitor are interconnected in series and connected in parallel with power supply. First thyristor, first choke, diode, and second capacitor are interconnected in series and connected in parallel with power supply. Second thyristor is connected in parallel with first thyristor and power supply. Third capacitor and resistor are interconnected in series and connected in parallel with first capacitor, power supply, and third thyristor, as well as in parallel with first choke, first and third thyristors. Fourth thyristor is connected in parallel with diode, resistor, and third capacitor. Fifth thyristor, fifth and sixth capacitors are interconnected in parallel and parallel-connected to fourth capacitor, flash lamp, and secondary winding of flash transformer. Flash lamp and secondary winding of flash transformer are installed parallel to fourth and fifth capacitors.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of flash lamp due to capability of obtaining double supply voltage across lamp and reducing stored energy consumption in working capacitor.
