FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method for preparing methylsilanes. Method involves reduction of substituted silane chlorides with lithium-aluminum hydride at increased temperature in an organic solvent medium. The reduction process is carried out at temperature 80-120°C and alkylaromatic hydrocarbon taken among the order CnHn+2 wherein n = 7-8 is used as a solvent. Invention provides preparing methylsilanes in the broad range from monomethylsilane to trimethylsilane of high purity and high yield of the end compound.
EFFECT: improved preparing method, enhanced yield.
