FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: vibration insulator comprises at least two coaxial rings and at least one set of flexible rods interposed between the adjacent rings around the virtual cylindrical or conical surface at an angle to the generatrix of the cylindrical or conical surface and interconnected so that the ends of the flexible rods are arranged over the same circumference. The flexible rods are inclined at the same angle to the generatrix of the cylindrical or conical surface or at different angles to the generatrix. The flexible rods are connected with the rings to provided monolithic member made of reinforced composite material. The method comprises preliminary assembling mandrel by means of setting flexible die on the cylindrical shell around its cylindrical surface. The surface of the die is provided with grooves inclined at an angle to the edge of the die. The ends of the shell are provided with the locking pins arranged over its periphery. The vibration insulator is made by means of continuous winding of reinforced composite material on the mandrel and applying the binder on it to define flexible pins of the vibration insulator.
