SUBSTANCE: several screening methods have been suggested for animals at increased level of offspring quantity and/or preferable signs of meat quality. Methods are based upon detection of genetic markers associated with the above-mentioned positive signs. Genetic markers are based either upon presence or absence of certain polymorphisms in PRKAG3 gene. The innovation enables to increase efficiency of selection performed.
