SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining polymorphism of genes, in particular melanocortin 4 receptor gene (MC4R) associated with meat and fattening properties of pigs. Technical result of the proposed invention is achieved by the fact that a method of determining polymorphism G→A G→A in position 2207 of gene MC4R (Asp298Asn)(number GenBank FJ357500), associated with meat and fattening properties of pigs, including PCR with real-time detection of results, where allele G corresponds to fluorescence curves on the FAM channel, and allele A—fluorescence curves on the R6G channel.

EFFECT: what is presented is a method for determining polymorphism of melanocortin 4 receptor gene (MC4R) associated with meat and fattening properties of pigs.
