FIELD: metallurgy, applicable for layer roasting of granular charge containing small solid fuel, mineral and mining materials.
SUBSTANCE: the feed device in the shaft furnace is made in the form of a burden bin, two opposite walls of the vertical shaft have a uniform surface, and the two other ones are made of grate bars inclined inside at an angle of 40-45 deg. with clearances. The roasting chamber is narrowed in the lower part due to vertical deflection of one of the grate bar walls by 10-20 deg., and a firing crucible with a burner device is installed in the upper part of the deflected grate bar wall, vacuum-chambers communicating with the smoke exhauster through gas conduits and a collector are installed on the opposite part-over the whole surface of the grate bar space. The furnace is provided with bins for feeding to the space between the wall and the burden of the board seal installed on the sides of the burden bin above the uniform walls, the seal reduced the loss of air and heat and prevents adhesion of the product to the shaft walls. Mineral parts, whose size is less than the burden granules by 3-5 times are used as the board seals.
EFFECT: enhanced capacity of the roasting process sue to the enhanced intensity of heat exchange because of a reduced size of granules from 30 to 10 mm.
