FIELD: processes and equipment for making flat articles including articles of large width produced of continuously cast ingots of large or mean thickness or of thin ingots.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized in plant having one-stand or multi-stand rough rolling mill; roller table for transporting rolled piece and, if necessary for rocking it; roller table section having hinged heat insulation protection hoods; unit for straightening rough bands; heating device, namely for induction heating of rough rolled bands till predetermined temperature along their length and width; multi-stand finish rolling mill; outlet roller table with devices for cooling hot band; units for coiling ready band. In one- or multi-stand rough rolling mill one or several ingots of carbon steels with mean content of carbon 0.2 - 0.8% or ingots of alloyed carburized steel or heat-treatable steel are rolled. Rolling process is realized by two stages at pause between them for intermediate cooling by rocking on roller table to one or several rough bands. Rough bands are heated due to combination action of protection hoods and heating device till predetermined temperature along width and length. In finish rolling mill prepared bands are rolled in two-phase range to thin high-strength bands.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical properties of steel having structure almost the same as after heat treatment of steel.
