FIELD: machine engineering, namely manufacture of parts of rotor-piston machines.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps for working in first pass round cylindrical opening; working at next pass non-round cylindrical opening by means of tool in the form of floating boring tip whose cross section is inscribed in inner envelope of formed opening and that is directed along guiding member. In order to enlarged manufacturing possibilities due to using simple-contour guiding surfaces, at first pass round cylindrical opening is formed with diameter determined according to formula given in description of invention. Then blank is remounted due to shifting axis of preliminarily worked round opening along symmetry axis of formed pattern relative to mean point of chord in direction to those portion of non-round cylindrical opening that is restricted by circle arc by value determined according to given relation. At next pass non-round opening is turned due to tool pressing to guiding member by means of cutting forces. Size and contour of cross section of guiding member are selected equal to those parameters of cross section of ready part that is restricted by circle arc. Tool axis is matched with chord rotation axis; guiding member is mounted with possibility of rotation around its own axis. Apparatus for performing the method includes housing, jig plate supporting three mangles secured to it and mounted in housing with possibility of motion; toothed roller joined with mean mangle-rack; handle for lifting jig plate; members for guiding tool backwards and forwards; clamping mounting attachment. In order to provide target result, axes of guiding members are shifted one relative to other and arranged mutually in parallel. Supporting jaws of clamping-mounting attachment are adjusted for outer diameter of blank. Said jaws are mounted on housing and axis of centering them is shifted relative to axis of member for backwards guiding tool along line connecting axes of guiding members in direction of axis of front guiding member by distance determined with use of given relation.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method and apparatus.
