FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises workpiece machining and measuring its profile in two cross-sections. Prior to machining, whipping, size and profile of workpiece location and machined surfaces are measured at spaced apart cross-sections. In clamping the workpiece at the machine, the position of measurement points relative to tooling clamps and actual parameters of boring are registered. Note here that the part with machined surface is measured at the same points and from the same datum points. Then, measurement results are used to define the tool rotational axis position and that of tooling clamps. Tooling stiffness is defined from reduction in machine surface diameter relative to cutting tool setup size with due allowance for cutting force radial component calculated for actual cutting parameters.

EFFECT: higher machining precision.
