TIE-TAMPING SET Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC E01B27/12 E01B27/16 

FIELD: railway transport; maintenance and repair of permanent way.

SUBSTANCE: proposed tie-tamping set has frame moved by drive in vertical plane, holders mounted on frame for turning around horizontal axles and spaced along set across the set and carrying tamping tolls with plates on ends and also vibrodrive and tamping tool feed hydraulic cylinders connected with holders. Tamping tools are arranged at two sides of each of two ties and each side of rail, four pairs of tamping tools per side, plates of each pair of tamping tools being pointed towards each other. Tamping tools of two pairs arranged along set and between two ties are displaced relative to each other across set. Vertical axles of seat shanks of two pairs of said tamping tools in holders are arranged in one vertical plane passing through axis of symmetry of set, and middle line of section area square to one vertical plane and formed between inner bent surface of plate and its edges on section of middle 1/3 part of its height. Vertical axes of shanks of tamping tools in levers of corresponding pairs are arranged in vertical planes at both sides of said one vertical plane, parallel to said plane, and they pass through middle lines of areas of sections perpendicular to corresponding vertical planes and formed between inner bent surfaces of plates of corresponding tamping tools and their edges on section of middle 1/3 part of their height.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of set by improving quality of compacting of ballast under owing to complete use of volume of ballast boxes.
