FIELD: communications engineering; cellular radio communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cellular radio communication system characterized in intersystem and system-to-system compatibility has aggregate of cells each incorporating base station; each cell has at least two zones of which one is internal zone. Zones are nested in cell radio coverage loop and one into other, zone loops being quasi-similar to cell radio coverage loop which are not intersecting, radio coverage of each zone being provided with radio frequencies specially assigned for its servicing. System transceiver is equipped with horizontally nondirectional antenna or with set of sectoral antennas affording close-to-circular radio coverage of internal zone at one assigned radio frequency; system transceivers operating at other radio frequencies assigned to each sector are provided with sectoral antennas disposed for ensuring sectoral radio coverage of external zone.
EFFECT: enhanced system capacity, reduced frequency resource requirement and system cost.
