FIELD: machine engineering, possibly finishing cone surfaces of revolution such as raceways of rings of cone rolling bearings with use of abrasive tool.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized with use of tool having circular contour of profile in axial and cross sections and length of circle arc in axial section equal to length of worked blank. Tool is mounted according to condition of matching its cross section with minimum width of blank cross section of minimum radius. Tool is moved along blank by rolling out and it is forced to worked surface by variable effort. In addition tool is subjected to oscillations in plane normal to rotation axis of blank and having continuous frequency and variable amplitude. IN description of invention mathematical formulae are given for calculating circle radius of tool in its cross section and oscillation amplitude.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of contour in cross section of blank by roundness, waviness and roughness, improved efficiency of working.
