FIELD: the invention is designed for ultrasonic crack detection of austenitic welded seams.
SUBSTANCE: the essence is in that a welded seam is divided into zones and separate transformers are used for examination of each zone. The transformer for a creeping wave is used for examination of the upper zone and the transformer for a longitudinal wave - for examination of the lower zone. The transformer for the longitudinal wave is connected with a processor of a computer to serve double assignments: it is used with one group of stroboscopes and a coefficient of transmission for processing of direct reflections of an emitted sound and with another group of stroboscopes and a coefficient of transmission for processing of indirect reflections of a sound with transformation of a wave type. The stroboscopes are determined by measuring along the scheme of the length of the passing ways of the sound. Test plates are used for definition of mountings of sensitiveness and for confirmation of corresponding width of the field of action for each transformer.
EFFECT: provides optimal configuring of a useful group of two-element transformers for automatic ultrasonic crack detection of austenitic welded seams.
