FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises ultrasonic probing of components in the vicinity of welding, receiving and evaluating the reflected ultrasonic signals. The method further includes evaluating the reflected ultrasonic signals from structural inhomogeneities of the metal of the components in the heat-affected area and adjusting the sensitivity of the ultrasonic flaw detector relative to the strength of the said signals.

EFFECT: high sensitivity during the ultrasonic quality control of welding of metal components.
