FIELD: varnish-and-paint industry.

SUBSTANCE: paint for nonfouling coatings is used as finish paint on hull surface to suppress deposition and growth of sea organisms. Paint contains binding agent including colophony material and additional film-forming resin at their weight ratio between 20:80 and 95:5, paint further containing ingredient possessing biocide properties against sea organisms. Additional film-forming resin includes (A) 30 to 90 wt % of film-forming polymer with acid functional groups, which are blocked with groups capable of being hydrolyzed, dissociated, or exchanged with sea water compounds thereby allowing polymer to be dissolved in sea water. Blocking groups are selected from quaternary ammonium groups forming with polymer quaternary ammonium salts and quaternary phosphonium groups forming with polymer quaternary phosphonium salts; and (B) 70 to 10 wt % of non-hydrolysable and water-indissoluble film-forming polymer.

EFFECT: achieved optimal strength of paint film and/or reliable washing-out of colophony-based paint matrix after washing-out of biocide.
