FIELD: electrical and power engineering; power stations and transformer substations.
SUBSTANCE: proposed transformer unit has two equal ratio transformers incorporating equal number of windings. Some windings are interconnected in series and connected to respective leads of transformer unit. Other windings are interconnected in series and connected to other leads of transformer unit. Transformers can be provided with devices for varying turn number of windings. Transformer windings can be connected in parallel with output leads of current-correcting units. The latter can be provided with input leads placed at certain potential. Transformer unit incorporates provision for reducing current through shorted-out turns of winding and through circuit forming such shorts, as well as for reducing local heat and electrodynamic forces on these circuits.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of transformer unit.
