FIELD: fish processing industry.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus is designed for controlling actuation of at least one tool in fish processing machine. Method involves moving tool and fish relative to one another along predetermined transportation path comprising guiding member adapted for defining position of fish relative to tool and positioned so as to penetrate into fish body. Guiding member is equipped with sensor for defining position of fish relative to guiding member. Sensor is connected to computing unit for comparing predetermined position of fish with actual position thereof. Output of computing unit is connected to actuating mechanism for actuation of tool only in case actual position of fish coincides with its predetermined position, when guiding member penetrates into fish body in correct manner.
EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to providing correct position of fish relative to guiding member to allow damage to fish due to incorrect position thereof relative to guiding member to be avoided.
