FIELD: rolling; repair and reconditioning of rolls.
SUBSTANCE: ring slag bath is formed between surface to be repaired and cooled crystallizer. Said crystallizer contains forming and current supply sections. Vertical slots made in current section of crystallizer are provided with insulating gaskets dividing the section into sectional members of equal length. Number of phase of supply source is equal to number of sectional members. Current supply from one pole of one phase of multiple-phase supply source is provided to one end of each sectional member. Sequence of phases corresponds to sequence of arrangement of sectional members over perimeter of roll. Second poles of multiple-phase supply source are connected into common point and connected to current supply pan. Voltage pulses are supplied in turn to each sectional member from supply source alternating them with no-current conduction.
EFFECT: provision of stabilization of electroslag process owing to equalizing of temperature in slag bath and intensive stirring of metal.
