FIELD: electric impulse generators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed impulse generator has built-in carrying hood structure for Marx-circuit voltage-surge generator incorporating several generator stages. Air-cooling hood for switching discharge gaps is known to be disposed separately on carrying structure for switching spark gaps, surge capacitors, as well as series and parallel resistors. Novelty is that hood functions as carrying structure for switching spark gap and for separate or all electrical components of surge-wave circuit. One of hood alternatives has triangular cylindrical carrying structure whose side walls are formed by insulating plates and mount one of electrical components: switching spark gap, surge capacitor, and resistors. Hood is characterized in small sectional area and, hence, in low inherent inductance of surge-wave circuit; attachment modules used for at least one generator stage make the latter easy to handle in transit and in service.
EFFECT: reduced design cost and loss, as well as space requirement; facilitated manufacture.
