FIELD: protection of miscellaneous pieces of equipment from intensive atmospheric electricity. SUBSTANCE: lightning diverter has central lightning rod, central ground rod, side rods, insulating case with metal lid accommodating central lightning rod and side rods, as well as bottom hole receiving central ground rod. Case accommodates capacitor plates in the form of metal plates and two circuits of series-connected resistors. Top plate of upper capacitor is connected to case lid. Bottom plate of lower capacitor is coupled with central ground rod. Spark gaps are disposed on adjacent plates of nearby capacitors. First leads of first-circuit resistors are connected to top plates of capacitors. First leads of second-circuit resistors are connected to bottom plates of capacitors. Both circuits incorporate equal number of resistors having same ratings. Case is filled with dielectric capable of self-recovery of its original properties upon operation of device. EFFECT: enhanced service life and efficiency of device. 2 cl, 1 dwg
