FIELD: shipbuilding; monitoring ship seaworthiness and creation of expert systems of safe navigation.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on measurement of roll period, drafts fore and aft, wave period, relative bearing and speed of ship at irregular swell, determination of metacentric height and angular motion of ship relative to longitudinal, transverse and vertical central axes. In realization of this method, true heights of waves and relative bearings of rising of waves are additionally measured. Besides that, velocity and relative bearing of current and amount of loss of ship's speed because of wind and swell are determined. Device proposed for realization of this method is provided with relative bearing sensor, speed sensor, sensors demonstrating drafts fore and aft, package of sensors showing angular displacement of oscillatory motion of ship relative to longitudinal, transverse and vertical axes, package of sensors showing acceleration of ship in swell which are connected with switching unit and information preliminary processing unit connected with processor-classifier, editor-processor, metrological processor which are connected with intellectual processor. All these processors form computer connected with display, documentation system and expert system by means of intellectual processor. Device is also provided with low-altitude radio altimeter whose output is connected with computer which is connected in its turn with outputs of relative bearing sensor, speed sensor and outputs of transceiver of satellite navigation system and wind parameter meter.

EFFECT: extended functional capabilities; enhanced reliability of estimation of ship seaworthiness.
