FIELD: railway transport; tracks.
SUBSTANCE: proposed rail butt joint has rails, fishplates and fasteners. Insert is provided placed in cuts of rail ends to be connected and welded to one of fishplates and to rail making it possible to overlap expansion gap ▵t° and take up load from rolling stock wheels without shock.
EFFECT: improved reliability of connection, reduced noise and provision of quick and easy mounting and demounting of rail tracks.
