FIELD: universal mobile telecommunication systems.

SUBSTANCE: method for authentication of utilization on server with utilization of messages of session initialization protocol includes sending session initialization protocol request from user agent to server. Then server sends authentication request to user agent in response for invitation request, while authentication request includes information about the fact that authentication will be performed with utilization of mechanism of agreement about authentication and keys for universal mobile telecommunication system. Then user agent in accordance to mechanism of agreement about authentication and keys sends authentication response to server, after that server performs appropriate actions for realization of requested session initialization protocol procedure in response to session initialization protocol request. Session initialization protocol request may include any standardized session initialization protocol request containing either session initialization protocol request INVITE, or session initialization protocol request REGISTER. Authentication request may include either code 401 of session initialization protocol (forbidden), or code 407 of session initialization protocol (intermediary authentication request). Authentication request must contain vectors of random call RAND and authentication marker AUTN of mechanism of agreement about authentication and keys procedure for universal mobile telecommunication systems, which can be included in header field of response to WWW-authentication or session initialization protocol intermediary authentication. Authentication response must either contain RES code, or AUTS code of mechanism of agreement about authentication and keys for universal mobile telecommunication systems or an error code.
