FIELD: metallurgy, namely hot rolling of strips of standard and low-carbon steels in continuous wide strip rolling mills.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating slab; performing its multi-pass alternating reduction by width and by thickness in continuous finish rolling stand group while realizing normalized strip tension between stands. Reduction by width is terminated when relation of strip thickness to strip width is lowered till value 0.015. In finish rolling stand group specific tension of strip is kept equal to value consisting 0.05 - 0.45 of its yield limit in respective interval between stands at percentage reduction degree for pass no more than 50%.
EFFECT: stability of rolled piece between vertical rolls, minimized non-controlled values of strip widening and narrowing in continuous group of stands.
