FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises feeding the strip into continuous finishing train of stands via intermediate roller table, multi-pass strip reduction in continuous train of stands at strip threading speed and strip cooling by feeding water thereon in interstand gaps. Strip crosswise profile and mechanical properties over strip length are decreased by decreasing water feed over strip length pro rata with time of strip presence on threading roller table. Note here that in rolling 1.5-16mm-thick strips, said threading speed being maintained at the level of 4-14 m/s while decrease in cooling water feed over strip length is kept at the level of 1.8 m3/s to 1.2 m3/s.
EFFECT: higher quality of strips due to use of interstand cooling systems.
