FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed crankshaft of internal combustion engine contains main journals and crankpins connected by webs. Said webs are made asymmetrical relative to plane passing axes of main journals and crankpins. Asymmetrical shape of webs is determined by equality of maximum stresses in left-hand and right-hand halves of web cross section and loading of crankpin and main journal by forces whose lines of action are displaced relative to axes of said webs.
EFFECT: reduced mass, improved uniformity of distribution of stresses and deformations of crankshaft.
