FIELD: electrical engineering; dc or ac high-voltage, high- or low-frequency systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed high-voltage transformer has its positive- and negative-voltage components disposed in two different groups. Both types of components are separated by single insulating partition. One of leads of all components is connected to ground level or to neutral voltage gradually rising toward other lead of positive-voltage components and gradually dropping across negative-voltage components so that components of each group are placed at equipotential voltage and at same level or distance from main power level. Transformer incorporates provision for eliminating stray capacitances and for disposing components very close to one another.
EFFECT: reduced size and cost of transformer.
