FIELD: optical communications engineering.

SUBSTANCE: in the method, characteristic curve is measured and calculated for block of optical amplification and characteristic curve of losses spectrum of device, causing loses at appropriate wave lengths in DWDM system; characteristic curve of losses spectrum is subtracted from characteristic curve of amplification and then additive curve is utilized, received by means of difference curve, as given characteristic losses curve for amplification evening filter, GFF filter is mounted having characteristic curve of losses coinciding with characteristic curve of loss, into optical amplifier block.

EFFECT: possible determining of characteristic curve for losses, which should be had by GFF filter, which efficiently guarantees evening of optical power of each channel and provides homogeneousness of transferring communication line for whole system and further improvement of system optical power evening along channels.
