FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recycling of hard wastes, namely, oil filters for internal combustion engines. According to proposed method, filter housing is fixed and then cut by application of single effort with interference to cutting member providing direction of cut edges relative to cylindrical part of housing. Then housing is separated from cover with preservation of integrity of cover.
EFFECT: provision of cutting of housing at one pass of cutting tool with preservation of integrity of cover, improved recycling of waste filters, possibility of reuse of filter covers and other component parts.
