SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of timber industry, in particular, to the method of debarking of timber by means of ultrasonic waves. The method of debarking of timber consists in the following: the treated timber is subjected to action of the high-frequency waves, which penetrate through the main bark layers into the cambial layer and make the cambial layer boiling, which causes the subsequent breaking of the intermolecular bonds, that results ins to the separation of the parts of the bark from the timber. The action on the timber is exercised by the ultrasonic waves. The invention ensures the raise of manufacturability of the method of debarking of timber, improvement of the quality of the treated timber and reduction of power input.
