METHOD FOR VISCOUS OIL PRODUCTION FROM OIL RESERVOIR Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC E21B43/24 

FIELD: oil and gas industry, particularly to heat and produce viscous oil from reservoir.

SUBSTANCE: method involves drilling upward electrode well row in oil reservoir so that electric current is supplied between the wells; drilling productive wells in front of electrode ones to discharge oil into accumulation reservoir. Upward well row is drilled from lateral drifts arranged under oil reservoir. Aqueous electrolyte solution is supplied under 1.2-5 atm pressure in electrode wells of upper side drift along with supplying electric current to provide movement of oil to be displaced over the full reservoir strike towards production wells. The electrolyte is aqueous NaCl, HCl or H₂SO₄ salt solution.

EFFECT: decreased costs and increased output.
