FIELD: aerosol production from fine-sprayed water and carbon dioxide useful in fire quenching.

SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes acceleration of aqueous solution flow and its turbulence enhancement due to spinning in centrifugal atomizer. Method is characterized that carbon dioxide at least 2-3 g/l and surfactant in concentration of 3-5 g/l are preliminary dissolved in water, and flow is accelerated due to nitrogen pressure difference in vessel being equal at least 10 MPa. Apparatus for production of fine-sprayed water and carbon dioxide aerosol also is disclosed. According to invention bayonet-priming device with manometer is arranged on vessel for storage of carbon dioxide and surfactant aqueous solution under pressure for feeding of carbon dioxide and surfactant aqueous solution. Centrifugal atomizers with nozzles of not more 0.5 mm in diameter and amplifiers with double-threaded spiral channels are arranged on spherical cap of atomizer, wherein nozzle sum square is less than square of siphon pipe opening.

EFFECT: fine-sprayed water and carbon dioxide aerosol with desired least drop sizes and increased fire-quenching effectiveness.
