FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed plug connector designed for use in 0.4-kV power supply systems of apartment houses, administrative buildings, and industrial enterprises where active load is prevailing in supply mains has socket and plug with parallel current-carrying pins. Mating parts of plug pins and socket jacks are made in the form of lemon-shaped self-crossing truncated torus with its meridian radius R meeting following condition: R ≥ 6L, where L is length of plug pin part engaging socket jack. Plug shroud mounts bushing for easy rotation connected to socket shroud by means of threaded joint with long pitch of lead thread. Reduced contact resistance of connector parts makes it possible to extend range of currents being transmitted.
EFFECT: enhanced thermal stability in carrying accident currents which raises connector reliability.
