WARHEAD Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F42B12/10 

FIELD: ammunition for piercing of holes of a large diameter.

SUBSTANCE: the warhead has a shaped explosive charge, having an axis, front section of a ring shape positioned about the axis and made with a concave profile in the longitudinal section in the axis of the shaped charge, and a band located near by, at least of a part of the ring-shaped front section designed for formation of an expanding ring from the fragments of the mentioned band at detonation of the explosive. At least part of the ring-shaped front section is made so that the vector, projected outside from the mentioned part normally to the surface of the ring-shaped front section, diverges with the direction of the axis, and the concave profile of the front section envelops the central angle with a value of 15 to 90 deg. In the warhead of the second modification the shaped charge and the band are mounted proceeding from concentration of the largest part of the band materials in the expanding conical duct at detonation of the shaped charge.

EFFECT: enhanced armor-piercing action of the shell.
