FIELD: the invention refers to the field of metallurgy and may be used in manufacturing and exploitation of graphitized electrodes.
SUBSTANCE: the arrangement for nipple connection of electrodes has a longitudinal groove fulfilled in accordance with the diameter of a nipple. The groove is connected with a hollow opening located on the face plane of the nipple and divides it on two connected parts which transform the radial thermal expansion of the nipple into an elastic deformation of a bend, that excludes cracking of the nipple socket. The using of the arrangement allows to avoid cracking of the nipple socket at powerful steel-casting furnaces and also at replacement of electrodes or nipples with distinctive coefficients of thermal expansion.
EFFECT: would shorten independent consumption of electrodes by users.
