SUBSTANCE: proposed thermal cutout 1 has two fixed contacts 13A provided at ends of conducting contact pins 5a protruding into enclosed metal casing 100, support 6 disposed within casing, support-mounted oscillatory heating resistor 8 incorporating two movable contacts 9A facing the fixed contacts, and heat-sensing strip 10 disposed between heating resistor and support and connected to heating resistor through connecting member 1`2. Surface area of heat-sensing strip equals that of heating-resistor effective part. Support bore is rectangular in shape. Heating resistor protruding part and long side of support bore are in point-to-point contact with one another. Connecting member has first and second abutting sections.
EFFECT: enhanced operating current sustained by proposed cutout.
