FIELD: technology of breaking ice cover and cleaning fairways and water basins from ice.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in subjecting ice cover to action of flexural gravitational waves excited by ship running along edge of ice cover. Area of reduced pressure is formed between edge of ice and adjacent side of ship.
EFFECT: increased ice breaking capacity of ship.
