FIELD: medicine, psychotherapy.
SUBSTANCE: one should organize special colloquium with a patient to enhance motivation for therapy and explain the possibility to reconstruct psychological equilibrium and psychic reactions, describe body state and the necessity of therapy. Then one should conduct progressing muscular relaxation due to successive strain and relaxation of different body muscular groups and form a stereotype of relaxation at mental pronunciation of a key word as "to relax". In the stage of relaxation one should perform reconstruction of images, so, for this purpose, visualization of the images of stress situations should be transformed into patient's emotional experience and social behavior by suggesting to substitute these images for pleasant or endurable. Attention should be concentrated upon patient's feelings in a new reconstructed image. After muscular relaxation one should carry out rational psychotherapy along with explaining the mechanism of impact and the necessity to apply antidepressant preparations, for example, Zoloft at the dosage of 200 mg/d for 1 mo. Correction course corresponds to 1-5 seances, repetition of muscular relaxation and visualization, once or twice weekly. In each next seance it is necessary to carry out work over different images presented by patients during visualization. The innovation widens the number of preparations applied in psychotherapeutic practice.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of correction.
