SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for transportation of articles in stacks, for instance, tires, boxes, briquettes and piece loads such as sacks, cases, barrels, etc. proposed hand truck contains frame of wheels, grips and grip control mechanism. Wedge-like catches are arranged on ends of two grips brought beyond load gravity center and on longitudinal axle of truck frame, lower surfaces of wedge-like catches being in one plane passing tangentially to generatrix of wheels. Grip turning axes are perpendicular to said plane. Grips are spring-loaded and mechanically intercoupled with pedal through expansion links. Spring is furnished with tensioner. Expansion links are adjustable in length.

EFFECT: increased capacity, functional capabilities of truck and reliability of load handling.
