FIELD: textile industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves winding warp threads on warping shafts; comparing theoretic winding radius with actual one and unwinding bobbins on warping column of smoothing machine at equal angular velocity, with unwinding of shafts on smoothing machine being performed at minimal and constant braking moment created by friction in bearings and friction in rigid kinematic connection of warping shafts; providing compensation of draft change in compaction unit-winding body contact zone by changing movement value of compaction unit in accordance with expression: ▵Ρa=▵Ρn-(Ρa-Ρm), where ▵Ρa is value of actual movement of compaction unit; ▵Ρn is nominal value of movement of compaction unit; Ρa is actual winding radius; Ρm is theoretical winding radius. Apparatus has electric engine, reducer, friction coupling with switching on-off unit, and cam pair, whose first member is kinematically connected to compaction unit and second member is connected through reducer to electric engine.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing minimal draft during unwinding of warping shafts.
