FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely molding methods and apparatuses.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating and compacting powder material in pressing chamber restricted by molding frame and two movable punches. Each punch has at least two mutually insulated electrically conducting surfaces contacting with material at compaction. Voltage is fed at least to one contact surface of each punch for creating ohmic heat in compacted material. Apparatus for performing the method includes at least two separate voltage and(or) current sources; each source is connected with one contact surface.
EFFECT: shortened time period of manufacturing cycle.
